Build software worth being proud of.
ReimeiTech is a small studio of engineers and designers who care more about the craft than the clock. We work in small teams, at a calm pace, on problems that matter — and we'd rather grow slowly with the right people than quickly with the wrong ones. If that sounds like you, read on.
The best engineers we know don't want more perks. They want good work, good people, and to be trusted.
We're not trying to be the biggest software company, or the loudest. We're trying to be the kind of place where careful, talented people do the best work of their careers — and still have a life outside it. That means small teams, real ownership, honest feedback, and a pace you can keep for years.
It also means we hire slowly and deliberately. We'd rather leave a seat empty than fill it with someone who isn't right for the work or the team. If you join us, it's because we genuinely believe you'll make us better — and that we can do the same for you.
Six things that are true of working here.
Small teams, real ownership
You'll own meaningful surface area from week one — not a ticket queue. Small teams mean your judgement matters and your work ships.
A calm, sustainable pace
We build for the long run. No crunch as a habit, no heroics rewarded — just steady, focused work and weekends that stay yours.
Honesty over politics
We say the true thing kindly and early. Disagreement is welcome, status games are not, and “I don't know yet” is a complete sentence.
Craft you're proud of
We'd rather ship something smaller and right than larger and shaky. The work has your name on it; we want you to mean it.
Always learning
Every project should teach you something. We budget for it, make space for it, and treat being wrong as the cost of getting better.
Outcomes, not hours
We care that the right thing happened, not that you were online at 9am. Trust is the default; results are the measure.
Fewer meetings. More making.
Mornings tend to be quiet and deep — long focus blocks, a short async stand-up in writing, code and design that actually moves forward. Afternoons are for the human parts: a pairing session, a design review, a walk-and-talk to untangle something hard.
We protect your attention like it's the scarce resource it is. The default is trust: do good work, communicate clearly, and we'll stay out of your way.
Spaces that let you breathe.
Light, greenery, and quiet — whether that's our studio in Kyoto or the corner of your home you do your best thinking in.
Support that respects your work and your life.
Remote-first, async by default
Work from wherever you do your best thinking. We default to writing things down so nobody has to be online to keep up.
Protected time to think
No-meeting days and long, uninterrupted focus blocks are part of the schedule — not something you have to fight for.
A real learning budget
Conferences, courses, books, certifications. If it makes you better at the craft, we want to help pay for it.
Top-tier hardware & tools
The machine you want, the licences you need, and a home-office stipend to set up a space that works for you.
Health & wellbeing support
Proper health cover and genuine flexibility for life, family, and the days you need to step away.
Ownership in what we build
Everyone shares in the upside. When the company does well because of work you did, you feel it too.
Where we'd love help right now.
All roles are remote-first. The Kyoto studio invitation and the benefits above apply to our engineering and design roles. Don't see your exact title? If you're excellent and you'd fit how we work, we still want to hear from you.

A fair process, respectful of your time.
Four steps for our engineering and design roles, usually over two to three weeks. We'll tell you where you stand at each one, and we'll never ghost you.
A real conversation
A relaxed call to learn what you're looking for and tell you honestly what the work and the team are actually like.
Work, the way we work
A short, paid take-home or a paired session on a realistic problem. No whiteboard gotchas, no trick questions, no unpaid spec.
Meet the team
A deeper conversation with the people you'd build alongside — about craft, trade-offs, and how you think when it's hard.
A clear offer
Straight answers on scope, pay, and growth, and a thoughtful first month designed to set you up to do good work.
Light, plants, and room to do good work.
Think you'd fit here?
Apply to an open role, or just tell us about yourself and the kind of work you want to do. A real person reads every message, and we'll always reply.
